  so jackson admits that there's a problem in the jw community with pedophiles, but lett says that it isn't true that jw are permissive to pedophiles.

  also, morris says that jws where ahead of the game with the 1980s watchtower by blaming homosexuals for pedophilia.

  hmm...seems legit.

  JWs nearly killed my mother

  the past week has been hell for me.

  my mother started feeling ill and we went to seek medical assistance.

  we live in the mountains and the nearest large hospital is about 150 kms away.

  after listening to the hearings of the australian royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse, i am no longer content to have simply walked away from the organization.

  as a matter of conscience, i do not want my name linked with the organization in any way.

  i know this letter has been posted previously, and i thank the author.

  i thought it was in one of the monthly broadcasts but i'm not sure which one.

  Jackson on Deuteronomy 22 and "two witnesses"

  in his testimony before the royal commission geoffrey jackson said he did not have the answer to the question posed to him regarding deuteronomy 22:25-27 and was unable to ask jesus at this time.

  two things stand out to me about this piece of jackson's testimony.

  1. he said he could not ask jesus.

  Jackson can't pray TO Jesus, only through him.

  A better Commission question would have been, "Is it not the case that if Jehovah is asked about a case of sexual abuse, he may refer back to this part of Deuteronomy and say that it's not required to have two witnesses?

  Misleading The Australian Royal Commission

  has the australian rc been given misleading assurances that jws will fully comply with laws demanding that child sex offenses be reported to the police?

  it appears that way when we look at the background to these assurances.

  several jws testified to the rc, that they would have reported all child molestation cases to the police had they had been required to do so by law.

  Even when in locations of mandatory reporting, JW elders conduct an investigation into the allegations first, then call the Branch, then call the authorities. Already they have abandoned best standards of care, before they report to law enforcement.

  Watchtower has lost repeatedly in court when claiming clergy penitent privilege. Two elders investigate, the Branch is called where two more Service Department elders are informed, three elders then form the Judicial Committee, finally a report is made and filed with the Branch. All of these processes have been illustrated in court as breaching clergy penitent privilege.
